Not Just a Team—Two Distinct Styles, One Shared Vision

At May Dream Photography, we’re not a cookie-cutter photography duo—we’re a blend of two unique personalities with one shared goal: to capture your day honestly, beautifully, and with intention. Joyce brings bold energy, expressive direction, and a big-picture storytelling approach that turns your event into a vibrant visual narrative. Correy offers quiet confidence, subtlety, and a documentary style that lets natural moments shine without interference.

Whether you're drawn to the wild dance floor candids or soft, cinematic calm... someone to get the crowd laughing, or someone who moves like a silent ninja in the background—we’ve got you covered.

This page is here to help you get to know how we shoot, where our strengths lie, and how—when we work together—we bring out the best out of every event we capture.

Joyce: Smiling photographer by the lake

Correy prefers natural, waist-up candid shots; suggestions and guidance on posing are minimal, but he’ll gently prompt couples when needed. Around 80% of his work is documentary-style—he silently (like a ninja) photographs whatever’s happening as the day unfolds. So you’ll need to be the creative one, coming up with fun, silly bridal party antics for good footage. Any specific shots that you've envisioned in your dreams, just tap him on the shoulder.

With a directive style, Joyce likes to describe scenes to help her couples channel into a specific mood. She’ll demonstrate poses - yes, even air-kissing if needed - and guide you with simple prompts to ease you into the session first. Her go-to move is suggesting a natural flow of movements to help couples “live in the moment” and forget she’s even there (well… not such a secret now, lol). Then she shifts into candid mode, capturing genuine reactions and emotional moments by paparazzi-ing from afar.

Correy’s pretty quick at picking out sneak peeks to edit, usually getting a handful out within 12– 72 hours after the event. It’s his way of keeping the post-event buzz going, so everyone can relive the magic while it’s still fresh in their minds.

Joyce doesn’t really do sneak peeks. Not because she doesn’t love you, but because choosing just a handful from hundreds of good shots is a struggle. With so many favourites, narrowing it down feels impossible. So she'd rather take her time and give you the full gallery all in one go.

This photo shows Correy in his natural habitat, quietly capturing moments without as if he has an invisible cloak on. He’s not the type to jump in with pose suggestions as his style is non-intrusive and prefers candid moments. Approachable, and always happy to take group photos when waved over. He’s definitely capable of directing medium to large group, asking folks to huddle in, curve a little tighter, or shift slightly to fit the frame. A silent, professional ninja.

Joyce loves breaking the ice with light jokes, friendly banter, or silly cues to draw out genuine laughs. Her people-first approach helps guests relax quickly in front of the lens. She’s also got a sharp memory for faces, so by the end of the night, you can bet every guest will have made it into at least one photo. Shy or not, she’ll find a subtle, respectful moment to capture you naturally and beautifully.

Correy’s gallery style is people-focused but tidy. He prefers to deliver a tighter selection of the strongest shots rather than flood you with near-duplicates. Expect mainly candid moments and guest portraits, plus a little extra love shown to the venue, decor, and details. Just enough to bring the whole event back to life, start to finish.

Larger galleries with a higher quantity of photos, mostly focused on people and storytelling. Getting the full picture of the day is her main goal—she wants you to immerse yourself into the scene again and relive the moment, as if you were an attendee there. Then, she lightly touches on décor, shoe details, jewellery, and floral close-ups. And finally, just a dozen or so photos of the cake, food, and drinks.

Correy is calm, observant, and quietly confident. The kind of photographer who lets moments speak for themselves. He blends into the background, watching attentively so he can capture real reactions without ever interrupting the flow. While he’s not big on initiating interactions, he’s approachable and always ready to respond when needed. It’s his gentle presence that puts people at ease and helps preserve the authenticity of the event.

Joyce is loud. She is an excited squealer when she looks back at the photo that she just took. She'll also belt out a lot of YASHH's whenever you begin striking a pose, she will scream (quietly) for amazing compositions and wonderful lighting, then she'll run over to you to show you what she just captured.

Dry humour for days cause she's a big stir of being a boomer, millenial and Gen Z. A classic ambivert, that can switch between upbeat, crowd-hyping energy and quiet observation. She adjusts her vibe based on the room, ensuring guests feel both seen and comfortable without overwhelming them.

Correy’s turnaround is quick—his workflow is clean, efficient, and built for speed without sacrificing quality. Gallery would be completed within 2-4 days (depends on the duration of your event) and at the very maximum 7 days. Perfect if you want just the key highlights from the event. Despite also balancing a full-time job (like Joyce), he delivers fast results with consistent precision.

Turnaround time is typically 8–12 days, extending to 2–3 weeks during peak season.

Joyce prioritizes quality, color consistency, and dynamic range (where applicable) across the entire album. She takes a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach, carefully analyzing each image to determine why it deserves a 5-star rating. Rather than rushing through edits, she focuses on meaningful cropping, intentional rotations, and nuanced adjustments—resulting in rich, emotionally layered galleries that elevate every shot.

Correy's go-to style is waist-up shots, close-up portraits, and plenty of dreamy blurred bokeh backgrounds. He’s excellent at retaining ambient venue lighting in his photos, even when using flash in near pitch-black settings. Whether he’s shooting at the beach or in garden scenes, Correy keeps his horizons clean and level for a polished look, but he won’t shy away from a creative angle when it adds movement or meaning. He also has a natural eye for group symmetry, often capturing trios or clusters of five using his signature “triangular composition” to subtly guide the viewer’s eye toward the main subject.

Joyce gravitates toward emotionally rich moments but isn’t a fan of zooming right up to the face. Most of her shots are from the knees up or full-body. She captures laughter rippling through a group, tears quietly dabbed away, soft smiles exchanged across the room, and heartfelt run-ups into tight, firm hugs. Her signature ‘chain-reaction’ captures are all about the energy that flows between people—one moment sparking the next, as expressions and gestures naturally bounce off each other. That ripple of connection carries through her images, not just showing what happened, but how it moved through the room.

Correy specializes in low-key, documentary-style events—capturing guests exactly as they are. Birthday parties and kid-centric gatherings are his sweet spot, and he believes authenticity trumps perfection (smile wrinkles and all!).

Ideal for crowds who:

  • Prefer to be themselves over posed direction

  • Want curated key highlights delivered quickly

  • Love unfiltered, natural storytelling

Ideal for lively, guest-filled events—where rich, expressive storytelling meets emotional and visual depth. You get the best of both worlds, as Joyce effortlessly shifts between capturing playful, joyful moments and quiet, introspective ones, silently observing for the next spontaneous moment that's treasure.

And because she’s a certified hopeless romantic, surprise proposals literally give her life—so bring on the ring reveals and happy tears! But wait, there’s more: whether you’re eloping, tying the knot, or just need a photographer who gets your vibe, she’s all in.

Using Adobe Lightroom, Correy batch-edits with precision—applying custom color profile presets to each photo that makes the gallery cut. His workflow? Uniquely his. But rest assured, he’s got it all under control—delivering nothing but gorgeous, true-to-you photos. That’s the magic! ✌️

For now, Joyce is a slow-poke - gloriously so. Why? Every photo is hand-edited, one-by-one, in Capture One Pro after a meticulous selection process.

I know, I know—in this tech-driven era, I’m proudly old-school! I use Aftershoot to assist with culling, but I still manually review every single image they filter out. Each photo gets re-evaluated and re-starred before making the final cut. Then? The real magic happens: custom edits for every chosen frame. The results you ask?

Similarities

Correy: I didn't spend all this money to buy such expensive gear just to take blurry photos on purpose.
Joyce: Indeed so. Oh yes and don't forget the intentional out-of-focus photos too

01

We both love relatively brighter colours and contrasts in our photos. Warmer tones overall.

02

Candids are our #1 priority, as we like to papparazzi the cute hugs and mingling from afar.

03

Horizontal photos are our go-to shooting style. With the occasional dozen of vertical ones.

Joyce is the duo’s visible heartbeat—warm, engaging, and intuitively directive. She floats between guests with disarming humour, orchestrates movement-rich poses for couples, and energizes group shots with contagious enthusiasm. Every interaction is purposeful: she doesn’t just capture moments, she cultivates them.

Correy is the stillness—a shadow with a camera. He glides through spaces unnoticed, documenting the in-between: fingers entwined under tables, unguarded laughter during speeches, the way golden hour light clings to a champagne flute. While Joyce pulls out emotions, Correy frames atmosphere—his waist-up portraits layered with buttery bokeh and symmetry.
