About
I started my photography biz back in 2017 and was studying at UoA at the time.
During so, I decided to quit my part-time job at Starbucks to go all in on photography.
My first camera was a Canon 600D, normal entry-level stuff, but I loved it and till this day, have kept it like treasure.
I really wanted to get some event experience, so I went for it. No holding back whatsoever.
I tried pretty much everything that I could think of to get my name out there.
Printed my own flyers, stuck them all over the various campus bulletin boards. I made sure to make it nice and colourful to stand out from the rest of the rental ads.
On Facebook I kept sharing my posts and posting up stories, making sure all my Facebook friends were reminded constantly that I do photography now. I chucked money onto ads quite a few times shhhhh (a dozen or so times actually) hahahh I even hit up student-led uni clubs and asked if I could shoot their themed parties at nightclubs.
The funny thing is, I'd never been to a club before, it was not something of personal interest or particularly fond of, clubbing just ain't for me. but somehow I had the guts to walk around the city centre from 11pm to 2am with my camera gear. The rest is history, and that's what happens when you're young and fearless.
